Conference champion day

In brief, my picks for today's conference championship games....

LSU over Tennessee..I still think LSU is a bit overrated, but they're still better than Tennessee.
I don't think much of LSU's QB, but their D has some serious play makers, and they're more used to playing the big game and getting up for it.

VT over BC....BC just hasn't been playing all that well lately.

Missouri over Oklahoma....Missou is playing well, and I usually like the team who lost the previous game in a rematch.

In other games, I like USC to hammer UCLA by about 20. It will be close for at least a half, but then USC will step it up. IMO, USC would be one of those teams to most benefit from a playoff, as they're getting healthy, but money talks, and as long as it does, there will be NO playoff in college football. Its crazy, because I believe the money to be made with a college football playoff with about 16 teams would be unbelievable, but thats what happens when you've got the old guard running the show.

In other news.........

Santana possibly to the Yankees? Yankees, Red Sox, who cares. Rich getting richer, and baseball becoming ever more irrelevant to the real fan. The owners just don't get it. With the casual fan unable to enjoy baseball, and unable to relate to the crazy money tossed around, as well as the real chance that a lower payroll team can win the WS, their children also lose interest. I think that is just one of the many reasons why less and less kids are playing baseball, and choosing basketball as well.
